WHITE HOUSE NAMES CYBERSECURITY CZAR
On the same day as reports that Citigroup may have been hacked, the Assistant to the President for Homeland Security and Counterterrorism John Brennan sent an email to members of the public, announcing that the President has chosen Howard Schmidt to be the White House Cybersecurity Coordinator.
Schmidt, an Air Force veteran, has worked for eBay, Microsoft, the FBI and was a cyber-adviser to President George W. Bush. The White House says he will have regular access to the President and will be a “key member” of the National Security Staff. READ MORE…
